what-er day, pun Nintendoed

We all enjoyed a slow and steady start this morning, with no urgency to be in any ques before 8am , or, running for any trains!

At around 12pm we headed out to go to the Osaka Aquarium which is apparently one of the best aquariums on the world. After a couple of quick stops , we approached a very up-market Tynemouth Sea Life and began the exhibition. Within the first few minutes we were all on a brisk walk under a tunnel of hammerhead sharks and schools of various fish , it was obvious that this was going to be 100x better than Shields!

After only 4 days , Paul and I rekindled our friendships with the baby otters as they preformed some parkour in the display and swam with their fish frenemies - we have decided to call ours Platypus in future btw.

Following the otters, we also spotted different species of penguin, some pacific white-sided dolphin, whale sharks , sting - rays and the rest of marine life from the pacific and Antarctic oceans. I think the sea lions (sea doggos as Paul likes to call them) were the general favourite, especially since entering, Jazz stated she wanted to be “impressed by something big!”

After a quick pop into the gift shop we were on our way to Osaka’s Pokémon/Nintendo Centre where it was extremely busy , a lot of us failed to find anything worth waiting in the queue for and Zak was also unamused that the mystery key ring he spent time deliberating on, turned out to be the only one he didn’t want! Whilst we were on a Colin hunt from attempting to leave the shopping complex , Samantha and I indulged in some fresh strawberry cake and chocolate croissants which where more than a 10/10 , Paul directed us to a popular little strip of thrift stores amongst some amazing smelling street food . On our return, we nestled down in a lovely Indian/ Persian restaurant, and over some pints of Asai planned our journey to Hiroshima tomorrow.
