a moment of reflection
Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? Is the question we all asked last night when we left it until last minute to book the train from osaka to hiroshima. So our well thought out plan for the next day went to pot as everyone seemed to have the same idea about travelling early the next day.
Whilst we sat and ate a delicious Persian meal ( but expensive as the guy overcharged us!.) We booked a train for 17.20 the next day, which is alot later than the morning we had wanted....
We all got up, mostly well rested and checked out of our swanky pad at 10am and headed to the main station osaka to drop off our luggage, or so we thought.
Again, seems like everyone had the same idea and the entire city of osaka decided they'd do the same and in the whole gigantic train station there was 1 small locker, safe to say our 4 backpacks, 2 large suitcases and 6 rucksacks wouldn't be fitting in that. So we trundled to the next station to try our luck there so we didn't have to lug around 10kg+ on out backs. That also didn't work out. Safe to se we were tired, hot, sweaty and hungry. We all stopped to reassess the plan and parted ways to go and have food, myself, Paul, Anya and Zak went for the classic curry and jazz and Colin went for ramen.
We met back up and grabbed a couple of 'buildings' and ice cream to sit in a nearby park and just chill. Zak, colin and jazz got bored quickly and went for a wonder and stumbled upon a little league baseball game, whilst Paul, anya and I decided to catch some rays. Turns out after only reading a couple of pages of my book I fell asleep for an hour and was woken by Zak on his return luckily in the shade! We checked the time and headed to the station. Upon packing up we realised everyone had caught the sun a little, expcet Paul, santa has rang and asked if he can lead his slay at the end of the year and his body is redder than colins level 10 curry.
After 1hr31mins train ride we arrived at our next accommodation and dumped our stuff to head to see the atomic bomb dome as I'd heard it more mesmerising at night. It really was the most peaceful night and we grabbed 7eleven food and sat opposite the dome and had a quiet moment. We have now returned home so Paul can get creamed up and into bed, think the poor kid has sunstroke and the rest of us are playing cards before jazz and Zak stay up to watch the match.
